Food and drink

The Red Lion (near the church) provides lunchtime and evening meals and snacks.  This pub was seriously damaged by fire in 2006, but it’s been completely refurbished, and is back in business.  You can usually get a meal without booking, but the Red Lion sometimes gets full at popular times (like Friday and Saturday evening, or during sold-out Festival events). If you want to book ring them on 01494 862876.

The Crown (by the village hall) provides snacks on Saturday lunchtimes only, and has a garden.

Locations of these pubs are on the venue map on the ‘Getting there’ page.

There’s a wide variety of other restaurants and pubs in Amersham, Great Missenden and the surrounding villages.  Click here for a site listing Bucks pubs that serve food.  Or for ‘Visit Buckinghamshire: where to eat and drink’.

We plan to have a small marquee in the churchyard, and we hope this will offer drinks and light refreshments - but this is still being negotiated.

The traditional high-quality (but modestly-priced) Festival teas feature home-made sandwiches and cakes, thanks to the Festival Friends and their helpers. These are available after each Sunday afternoon concert at the village school (opposite the church to the right). Sunday tea in the village school is a pleasing part of the Festival’s tradition –  performers and composers from the previous event usually come along and talk to patrons.
