The 62nd Little Missenden FestivalWe’re delighted to be able to give you a preview of what to expect at Little Missenden this coming October. As always, the tenth-century church of St John the Baptist will be at the heart of the Festival – a magical, atmospheric place where music of the very highest quality is given its own special dimension. Announcement of our full programme, brochure publication and opening of booking will be in early August, but please keep an eye on the website and our social media for updates before then (links below) and email us if you have any questions. A foretaste of this year's artistsFestival regulars will have encountered a number of this year’s performers in earlier years. You’ve already experienced the top-flight music-making that they embody and we know you’ll need no further encouragement to buy tickets when the time comes. |
Pavel Kolesnikov and Samson TsoyGarlanded with many international awards, Pavel Kolesnikov is one of the outstanding pianists of his generation. We welcome him back with his duo partner Samson Tsoy. We welcome him back with his duo partner Samson Tsoy to treat us to some 4-handed playing. |
Leveret Leveret is a unique collaboration between three of England's finest folk musicians - Rob Harbron, Sam Sweeney and Andy Cutting. Each in his own right is an exceptional performer and master of his instrument and together their performances combine consummate musicianship, compelling delivery and captivating spontaneity. |
Albion Quartet Formed in 2016, the Albion Quartet unites four outstanding young string players, brought together by a shared belief in the visceral power of the string quartet. They’ll be playing quartets by Shostakovich, Walton and Elizabeth Maconchy. |
The Marian ConsortBringing together some of this country’s finest young singers, the Marian Consort is a flexible, intimate ensemble. Clarity of texture and subtlety of interpretation are their guiding principles. Their programme’s based on material drawn from manuscript sources by well- (and also lesser-) known Elizabethan names – unpublished at the time because of the potential risks involved. |
